Clara Imbert and Evy Jokhova Clara Imbert Is a French artist, currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2017. Her research reflects on notions of space and objects, perspective and perception resulting in works of various forms such as photography, sculpture or installation. Through experiments, Imbert investigates physical, mathematical and philosophical theories, creating new patterns in order to unravel intangible points of views. Michelina participated in an individual artist in residence at Centro Selva Arte y Ciencia, in Campoverde, Ucayali, Peru from the 31 of May to July 31, 2021. Raos: Teachers Plants Clara Best Núñez The Amazonian people use plants as a means of defense, to treat diseases and epidemics and even for the development of people in community life. Jacques Tournon makes reference in his book The Plants, the Rao and their spirits the following: There are rao that are medicinal plants, others that would not be considered medicinal in other cultures: plants to change states of consciousness (psychotropic and hallucinogenic), toxic plants, for fishing and hunting. ” (p.47) The word rao comes from Shipibo Konibo language to indicate when a plant is a teacher.
